Prof. Adaka Terfa Ahon

Prof. Adaka T. Ahon lectures in the Department of Special Needs Education, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia). Prof Adaka attended the College of Education, Katsina-Ala where he obtained his Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and proceeded to the Bayero University Kano where he bagged BA(Ed) in Special Education. He also obtained M.Ed and Ph.D both from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. In terms of working experience, Adaka served at the FCT College of Education, Zuba-Abuja for his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and was later employed by Federal College of Education (Tech), Gombe and later transferred his services to the University of Maiduguri where he taught briefly before joining FULafia where he rose the rank of a Professor of Special Needs Education.

Currently, Prof Adaka is serving as an adjunct staff of Baze University Abuja and Global Interfaith University, Lewes-Delaware, USA as well as External Examiner to Special Education Department, College of Education, Minna, Universities of Calabar, Ibadan and Jos as well as Nasarawa and Ebonyi States University Keffi and Abakaliki. Adaka is currently working as a Consultant to Taraba State University, Jalingo on the development and establishment of Special Needs Education program. Prof. Adaka has over 90 scholarly articles published to his credit in reputable national and international journals as well as chapter contributions. He has co-edited several books with seasoned academics. 

Prof Adaka is the current HoD, Special Needs Education Department and Deputy Director, Center for Disability Studies as well as Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education, FULafia and a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Leadership, Education and Development (FCILED), USA and Associate Fellow, African Academics Network (AFAAN).
